Freight Transportation Index Points to Uncertain Future for American Goods Movement
First, the Cass Index (http://www.cassinfo.com/frtindex.html) tells us that freight spending is dropping -- dramatically. Such a steep decline will mean that manufacturing outputs will tailspin. If goods are not moving in, they are not going to be moving out either.
